Sunscreen

I was introduced to a song by a good friend of mine, and ever since I heard it, I decided to try and live my life by it. It's the greatest lyrical composed song ever. It's more of a speech with music applied, but it's still amazing. I was browsing the internet and found this on YouTube... It's a video of the song. I thought it was composed rather well.

Zeitgeist

"The revolution is now."
Power corrupts. Politics fuck us over. Straight and simple. The government is all about manipulation. This isn't some sort of review of a movie, but what I have gotten from it. The government has us occupied with television, drugs, alcohol, sports, etc. They do this to distract you from getting in there way and thinking too much. You base yourselves off of television and what is going on. 'Watch my left hand above you whilest I uppercut you with my right hand.' That's what the government is doing. You are not told what you are not supposed to know. People hide things. I'm not going to say something that will ruin the entire thing for you, because I honestly think you should watch this movie. It is one of the greater documentary-type movies I have seen. Watching this threw a spin on so many things for me. Myths and reality. The ongoing idea that the past repeats it self. I can't even describe this in a million words if I had to. I have learned so much from it, and every bit of it makes me think. Ever notice that the smart people are the ones we kill? The ones that could make a stand against whatever the governments ultimate goal is? Martin Luther King, Malcom X, Ghandi, Lennon. Dead. Murdered. In Zeitgeist, it relates things with a quote from the way Bill Hicks would end some comedy shows.

"The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: Is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey – don't worry, don't be afraid ever, because this is just a ride." And we … kill those people. "Shut him up. We have a lot invested in this ride. Shut him up. Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account and my family. This just has to be real." It's just a ride. But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok. Jesus murdered; Martin Luther King murdered; Malcolm X murdered; Gandhi murdered; John Lennon murdered; Reagan.... wounded. But it doesn't matter, because – it's just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money. A choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one. Here's what we can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money we spend on weapons and defenses each year and instead spend it feeding and clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would pay for many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, forever, in peace."
-Bill Hicks.

It is probably one of the most brilliant things I have ever heard. And because I don't want to ruin something for you if you watch this movie, these will be my final words in the form of a quote:
"I believe the cost of life is Death and we will all pay that in full. Everything else should be a gift. We paid the cover charge of life, we were born"
-Bill Hicks.
